Creation of 'I'


One side of the carving is male the other female, across the eyes are a pair of scales symbolizing balance and the law of harmony. Acknowledging the astronomy of the 'Dogon people', the female's eye reflects the sun, the male's the moon. The hairstyle known as 'Cane roll' or 'Corn row', celebrates our agriculture and artistic creativity. The 'Three four five triangle' eye brow demonstrates architecture and scientific achievements. The central phallic symbols, the physical creation of 'I'.
